The library has applied for and received a grant from The Garden Conservancy for a Victorian landscaped garden. This process was spearheaded by the Quiet Corner Garden Club. The garden has been designed to use historically accurate plantings and will be named after Alathea Lord, an Abington woman who was instrumental in the early development of the library. Much shovel effort and heavy equipment work is being provided by local volunteers and some library board members to make this garden possible. Be sure to check back to see our progress.

The Abington Club is a limited group of people who support the library financially and morally with an unabashed literary and intellectual interest.
Besides helping with the funding of the library, the members of the club volunteer at the library, curate collections, produce events, and in general, enjoy this gem of an institution.
